Here is an actual scene from the movie The Wonderful World of The Brothers Grimm in full 3-strip Cinerama! This comes from Marty Hart's wonderful web site - http://www.widescreenmuseum.com. Aspect ratio of 2.6:1

Above is the same scene from the broadcast on Turner Classic Movie channel that I copied on to SVHS tape. Since I can't load the SVHS tape image on to my PC, I removed the image missing from Marty's frame. As you can see not only are you missing information from the sides but also the top and bottom. Aspect ratio of 2.48:1. Though if the above had the same width and all of the picture information from the top and bottom of the Cinerama frames, the aspect ratio would only be 2.17:1

Above is the same scene from the laser disc. Since I can't load the laser disc image on to my PC, I removed the image missing from Marty's frame. The laser disc removes even more information from the sides and the top compared to the TCM broadcast but, adds a little to the bottom. Aspect ratio of 2.25:1. Though if the above had the same width and all of the picture information from the top and bottom of the Cinerama frames, the aspect ratio would only be 1.98:1. The TCM broadcast also included the overture and intermission music which the laser disc does not have. The prologue has the actual scenes that go with it on the TCM broadcast. The laser disc has the sound but no picture.
